What Is Heavy Steel? Are There Grades?

Heavy melting steel comes in 2 types and various #2 Heavy Melting Steel Scrap Prices. If your steel is black, long and unprepared it is generally #2 heavy melting steel. Anything larger than 60″x24″ and over 1/4″ thick is usually considered #2 HMS. If you recently finished a large construction job and have scrap #2 HMS, bring it to a local metal yard.
