With snow blanketing parts of the Northeast it has become a bad time of the year for many scrappers looking for material. This may be a great time of the year to really learn more about the metals that you have and how you can make more money off of them.
The markets have been taking a bit of beating over the last week and the copper market has been tanking. On Monday we saw the markets increase but quickly got erased on Tuesday of this week and have hit new lows since we spoke last.
Steel and the ferrous markets have not gotten very good news recently either with reports that the market may be dropped $40-50 per ton very soon with the drops already starting this week with $15 down across all ferrous prices.
Where and why these drops are coming is the question that we will get asked most often and it is hard to answer in one sentence. This entire thing is stemming from the oil prices dropping over the last 6 months as well as many of the slow outlooks for growth in 2015. We hope to hear more news, but, but we are trying to absorb and get as much information out as possible.
Using our YouTube Page will be one of the easiest and more helpful places to learn more about scrap and go from there.
